Master the Air Guitar - Make it through the Qualifying Round
The black horses get to try out their luck in the Qualifying Round at the legendary rock club 45 Special on Thursday 7 September, starting at 10 p.m. The evening is hosted by an AGWC veteran, radio station YleX journalist Jani Kortti. In addition, the programme also serves on stage a Finnish "rock-verging-on-electrorock" band Superchrist.
Aireoke, which won spectacular favour with last year's festival goers, will also take place after the try-out, hosted by the USA runner-up air guitarist, Dan "Björn Turoque" Crane.

AGWC Final rewards skilled players
Welcome to the new decade of Air Guitar! The spectacular final of AGWC 2006 will be held for the 11th time on Friday September 8, at the biggest rock club in the country, Club Teatria.
The glorious night is hosted by Antti "Hyrde" Hyyrynen from the rising and hyped Finnish metal band Stam1na. The final also features Circus Ruska with their breath-taking show!
Evening's programme
7.30 p.m. Doors open
8.30 p.m. Sweatmaster (sunburned indie rock)
9.20 p.m. The Grand Final
11 p.m. The Crash (delicate sounds, penetrative expressions and far-reaching feeling in pop rock)
The Honorary AGWC Jury
The Honorary AGWC Jury is led to the new decade by the Finnish guitar legend Juha Torvinen. Mr. Torvinen has been the Head of the Jury since the beginning of the competition 1994. Other guitar virtuosos on the judging box are ex-Sentenced guitarist Sami Lopakka and musician Marzi Nyman. In addition, the Jury is joined by the Professor of Guitar, Royal College of Music and Director of the Creative Technology Lab, Royal Academy of Music Mr. Milton Mermikides.
To avoid mistakes in point calculation, the evening is supervised by Professor Keijo Ruotsalainen of Oulu University/Department of Electrical Engineering.
